Foreign Ministers Gabriel and Johnson announce increase in funding for German-British youth exchange initiative
Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel and his British counterpart Boris Johnson have announced that funding for the German-British youth exchange initiative, the 'UK-German Connection', will be doubled in order to improve improve exchange and dialogue between young people in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Deadline for applications for one-time payment to former Soviet prisoners of war to expire 30 September 2017
The German Parliament decided on 21 May 2015 that former Soviet prisoners of war should receive a symbolic payment in recognition of their treatment in German detention.The period of time in which to submit an application ends this year on 30 September 2017. This is an exclusionary deadline.
